Match your Home's Exterior Style

One way to make your garden look amazing is to match it to the exterior décor of your house. If you have a modern house, I recommend trying to make your garden look modern as well. Or if you’ve painted your house with bright, bold colours try and use bright bold colours for your garden décor.

You don't want to have a garden and house that look like they're two different spaces. You want them both to blend together so it looks as though you've integrated the space into one cohesive whole, rather than having separate areas of landscaping or architecture around your home.

Knowing your Style

Knowing your style is important because numerous products look good and that you’ll probably like but they don’t always match, and clash with each other which can end up leaving your space looking cluttered. I recommend experimenting with different things till you find what you like or till you get an idea of what you want for your garden.

Expert Tip from Brett Landscaping: There are many different styles you could choose to style your garden in. For more information on how to choose the perfect garden style, visit their wonderful blog post here.

Keeping the Garden Tidy

An easy way to make sure your garden looks nice is to make sure you keep it tidy. You can keep it tidy by removing weeds, mowing the lawn, removing dead plants and getting storage containers such as a shed so you can store items in their keeping which will unclutter your garden.

Add Garden Scents

The senses are an integral part of our experience and adding elements to engage them can be a huge improvement. The best way for you to realize this is by imagining yourself walking through your garden while being overwhelmed with floral scents - does it not sound like the stuff dreams are made out of?

Decorating on a Budget

I know decorating can be expensive so I’ll give you a few tips to help save money!

When decorating your garden, you don’t need to go for the expensive items! You can get creative by looking around charity shops and discount stores to find cheaper alternatives. If you're after something special that's not too elaborate but still makes an impact then I recommend checking out car boot sales or simply stopping off at any DIY retail outlet on the way home.

You can turn your garden into a beautiful and stylish oasis with a little creativity! So get inspired and start decorating today. Let us know in the comments how your gardens coming along.

Birdbaths

The birdbath is a wonderful way to decorate your garden and make some noise at the same time. Not only does it provide you with an amazing focal point, but it also attracts all sorts of feathered friends who can be great for wildlife watching!

Statues

There are many ways to enhance your garden, but one of my favourites is adding statues.

Whether you go with a classic design or something more modern and contemporary, they really add personality to all sorts of different spaces!

And if looking for a statement piece that will make an impact? Consider going large on this idea; just make sure everything matches up well proportionally so it doesn't look out of place among other plantings/sculptures etc.

Planters

The garden is a great place to spend time in summer, but if you have limited space it can be difficult. One way around this problem? Planters! They come in different shapes and sizes that will help make up for any lack of vertical growth in your garden by giving off an inviting vibe when flowers aren't blooming outside.

Planters also add some extra dimension to your garden which makes them perfect to sit back under the shade while enjoying yourself in summer weather.

Outdoor Rugs

Outdoor rugs are one of the best ways to decorate your outdoor area. Whether you currently have a patio, decking or even a conservatory that could do with a rug.

Outdoor rugs are available in a wide array of styles and sizes to suit your current home décor. Whether you currently operate in a minimalistic style or you are someone that loves to go all out with your design, you can rest easy knowing there is a great outdoor rug out there no matter your style choice.

Trees

The great thing about trees is that they are so versatile! You can use them in all sorts of ways, like adding some shade to your garden and hiding from the sun when it gets too hot. Plus, you'll be able to use it as an anchor for things such as a hammock or fairy lights.

Trees also come in useful if you’re trying to block an ugly neighbour, or if you live near a busy road they can help to filter the air pollution. They are also great for the environment since they can provide a shelter or a home to animals as well as create pollen for insects and other plants.

Trees can create endless fun if you have kids. You can add a treehouse or a garden swing or leave it as it is and let the kids climb it because that was great when I was a kid.

Furniture

Furniture is important in a garden otherwise it can look empty and dull. A few chairs and a table can really lift your space making it look amazing and making your garden more practical.

If you have a large enough space, taking advantage of all its potential can allow for some fun and creative seating arrangements so I recommend playing around a bit till you find a style that suits you and your space.

Make sure, when buying garden furniture, that you invest in a quality piece of furniture otherwise it could get damaged over the wintertime and you’ll have to replace them.

Fire Pits

Fire pits are a great way to add some warmth and aesthetic appeal to your garden. They make for excellent sitting areas, especially when you get the chance of roasting marshmallows while basking in their warmth! With many different styles available on the internet nowadays (some even customizable), there's one that will fit any budget.
